Temporary speed limit to be introduced on A26

A temporary speed limit is being introduced on the A26 this week.

Road users in East Sussex are being advised that a temporary 30mph speed limit will be introduced on the A26 between Beddingham Roundabout and the junction with The Lay from Thursday, January 14.

The speed limit will be in place to improve road user safety due to carriageway flooding, caused by water draining from adjacent land, approximately 500 metres south of Beddingham Roundabout.

An onsite meeting between Highways England, its contractors and landowners will take place this week to investigate potential solutions to this issue.

The speed limit will initially be in place for three weeks but may be extended if required.

Drivers planning to use this section of the A26 are advised to drive appropriately to the road conditions.
