Hailsham Bonfire Society’s tenth anniversary celebrations went off with a bang as hundreds took to the town’s streets on Saturday (October 17).
With the host society proudly at the fore of the procession, it weaved its way from Western Road through the streets of the town to the War Memorial, where a traditional bonfire act of remembrance took place.
Led once again by the fire banners of Hailsham Bonfire Society, the Grand Procession marched through the town to the Leisure Centre Car Park, where the bonfire was lit. A stunning fireworks display was watched by hundreds of awe-struck spectators before the fiery destruction of Guy Fawkes.
Throughout the evening, Hailsham Bonfire Society collected donations for a number of charities, including Sussex Search and Rescue, Sussex 4x4 Response, Hailsham Youth Club, Rocking Horse Appeal and Cancer Research UK.
