‘Terrible’ start to Littlehampton fundraiser

A TUMULTUOUS start almost derailed a charity fun day at Littlehampton’s Mewsbrook on Sunday (August 18).

As the event began, the heavens opened with ‘torrential’ rain pounding down relentlessly for an hour.

However, in spite of the poor start, the clouds cleared and the crowds soon rolled in, raising about £250 – not quite as much as organiser David Chace, of Chace Catering, had hoped for.

“I’m satisfied with the money raised considering we had such a terrible start to the day,” he admitted. “But it was this torrential rain that wasn’t forecast that really hit us. I almost called the day off.”

The money is be split between Enable Me and Breast Cancer UK.
