Tesco staff help school's garden

STAFF from a local supermarket joined forces with Pebsham Community Primary School to help clear an old Eco garden in preparation for a new project.

Armed with spades, forks and shears, Tesco Ravenside staff willingly gave up their day off and spent three hours clearing the old overgrown Eco garden, adjacent to the school playground, in preparation for a new project.

Pebsham’s headteacher, Pat Strickson, thanked Tesco and their staff for giving up their day off and presented the team with the headteacher award; a sticker normally presented to pupils for good behaviour.

Tesco’s senior manager Ray Tucker said the event was a real team effort. “It was a great afternoon and so nice to be doing something within our community.

“We are trying to get involved in more local projects.”
