Teville Gate's 'little brother' takes shape

WELL on its way to completion at the town centre's northern "gateway" is Worthing's newest high-build project, which is already transforming the area's appearance.

Situated at the junction of Chapel Road and Newland Road, the 5.5million development comprises seven storeys housing 51 flats, plus ground-floor retail space.

The land was formerly occupied by the Norfolk Hotel, later known as Area 51, and Flappers.

The scheme has been tagged "little brother", in comparison with the planned Teville Gate development, which will be just a stone's throw away.

A revised plan for the Teville Gate scheme, which incorporates two residential towers of 18 storeys and 11 storeys, has yet to be submitted to borough planners.
