MEMBERS of the public are being encouraged to get involved with this year's Ninfield Carnival.

The village carnival committee want as many participants as possible in the procession, either by entering floats or walking in fancy dress.

The theme for this year's event, on July 14, is 'That's Entertainment'.

As well as the procession, the carnival will have its usual features, including stalls and games, a craft fair, dog show, music and the strongman contest.

The carnival begins with the parade at noon.

The night before (Friday) will feature dance lessons in the marquee on Ninfield recreation ground, followed by an evening of dancing and music. Tickets cost 5 on the door and the dancing begins at 8pm.

Carnival night will see the return of the annual village party on the recreation ground with live music and a 'bucking bronco' and bouncy castle for the children. Tickets are again 5 on the door. The party runs from 7.30pm until late.
