The Cuckoo Trail, the Wealden Food and Wine festival, and the Coast to Country Walking event, are just some of the attractions featured in the district’s new 2015 tourist guide.

The guide which features events in and around Wealden is now available online and at tourist venues across the South East.

Cllr Roy Galley, cabinet member for Economic Development, said: “Tourist expenditure supports over 15 per cent of the jobs in the district. Through our new tourist guide we intend to make the most of our attractions. There is a magnificent range of things to do in Wealden together with outstanding accommodation and some great food. Our Wealden Do the best attractions guide is being circulated not only within the district but also to visitor locations across the South East within two and a half hours driving time. It’s a great way of encouraging people to spend time and money in our wonderful part of the country. This year the attractions guide can be found in 150 more outlets than 2014, and we are hoping to see the direct and indirect effect of tourist spending translate in to more that £300 million’s worth of income for Wealden businesses.”

The 2015 Wealden do the best attractions guide was launched at a reception for local tourist businesses hosted by Cllr Galley and Peter Colling, Managing Director of Tourism South East on the Lavender Line steam railway. The guide features around 70 attractions. Visit
