The most detailed Bognor Regis internet survey yet

Online views are wanted for the most detailed Bognor Regis internet survey yet.

Student Sarah Trevillion has set up a website www.expressyourview.info to enable everyone to comment about the town's regeneration from their own home.

The number of responses to her 37 questions is nearing 200 after a week. But she wants to hear from many more people.

"I want to try to get people who are younger and professionals commenting on the regeneration as opposed to those who go along to meetings," she said.

"The survey gives people the chance to say what they like about the proposals to improve the town.

"I am getting some really interesting comments already on what people like and don't like about the town. There are a lot of positive attitudes towards the regeneration.

"People seem to be quite excited by it. But there are others who don't know anything about what is happening."

Sarah, 22, is in the final year of her tourism management degree at the town's campus of the University of Chichester.

Originally from Surrey, she has lived in Bognor for the past two years after lodging in the university's halls of residence.

Sarah created her website under the guidance of Dr Andrew Clegg, the university's subject leader for tourism management, with the help of sophisticated new software.

Dr Clegg said: "This is an opportunity to make sure people who have not yet made their views known have the opportunity to do so."

The survey, prepared with initial help from BRighter Bognor, is likely to stay open until the end of the month.

The final results will be made public by Sarah.

Anyone without access to a computer can obtain a paper copy of the survey from Dr Clegg.
