The raffle where nobody loses
ALMOST the first attraction that greeted supporters entering the Ops Room at the RAFA Club for Saturday's Christmas fair was an array of soft toys.
As Royal Air Forces Association branch president Ken Igglesden explained, this was a stall where there were no losers.
Whether it was a teddy bear ofr a cuddly dog, every 1 invested in a ticket resulted in a stocking-filler toy for some lucky child.
Elsewhere in the crowded room, supporters were jostling to get a look at the cakes, the books and videos, the bric-a-brac bargains and, of course, the Christmas cards and gifts.
