Held on Saturday, the fete guests enjoyed the sunshine whilst helping to raise around £10,000 for good causes.

Lurgashall’s pictureque village green was packed out with locals and visitors enjoying a range of fete attractions at the event, which was open from 2pm until 5.30pm.

The Vic Cracknell Band provided musical entertainment all afternoon, and there was childrens entertainment from the performers ‘David and Katie’.

Visitors could browse a wide range of fete stalls, which included a produce stall laden with home made cakes and jams, a well stocked plant stall, a book stall and a boutique featuring ‘pre-loved’ clothes, as well as a bottle tombola and a champagne raffle.

The BBQ ran all afternoon and home made teas were served.

There was also Pimms available and a beer tent.

All the youngsters attending the event enjoyed the childrens’ rides, bouncy castle and childrens’ corner.

The famous Lurgashall dog races provided another attraction during the afternoon.

Mike Pavia, fete chairman, said: “It was a great afternoon and we were delighted to welcome so many people onto Lurgashall green to enjoy the fete.

“We were lucky with the sunny weather which meant many people stayed all afternoon.

“The event is the main annual fundraiser for village good causes so we are very pleased it was a successful day.”

All proceeds from the event are set to go to Lurgashall village societies and good causes including the village hall, church, recreation association, cricket club and horticultural society.
