Thebes embarks on Intimate Journeys

'Intimate Journeys II' is the latest exhibition at the Thebes Gallery, running from 17 to 23 December.

Artists Jenni Gregory and Alison Stringell make a welcome return to Lewes after last year's imaginative show, bringing a wealth of eclectic and inspiring new work including drawings, paintings and mixed media.

Ali Stringell trained at the Slade School of Fine Art as a theatre designer and has worked extensively in theatre, opera, ballet and television. The theatre is a constant inspiration in her work, which uses mixed media, pewter, acrylic, gold/silver leaf, found objects and assemblage.

Jenni Gregory trained as a textile designer at from the Royal College of Art.

Her work has evolved from found media assemblages and painted constructions through to strong charcoal drawings and paintings drawing from mythological roots. Her multimedia structures and ceramics explore a journey through personal dreamscapes and intimate symbols.
