Thefts warning for shoppers in Bognor Regis town centre

SHOPPERS in Bognor Regis town centre have been warned to stay alert after two thefts in charity shops.

The thefts of a handbag and a purse both took place on Wednesday, April 25.

PCSO Michelle Davies said: “Both of these occurred within charity shops in the town and were left unattended for a very short period of time.

“The two offenders of the handbag theft were seen and described as female with olive skin and long dark hair tied back.”

She asked customers who spotted any suspicious behaviour to report it to the police.

She also advised shoppers to take some simple steps to keep their money, cards and keys safe.

This included keeping purses at the bottom of handbags and keeping handbags zipped at all times and those with long straps worn over the body.

Bags should never be left unattended and men should avoid putting wallets in their back pockets.

She said crime prevention advice was available for individuals in their homes or for groups at work places or social events like coffee mornings.
