They're Keane to get those tickets!

FOUR lucky winners will soon get their hands on a pair of tickets each for Keane's triumphant return to Hastings on June 30.

The homegrown three-piece will be playing the opening night of the Hastings Beer and Music Festival in Alexandra Park in aid of St Michael's Hospice.

And Observer readers jumped at the chance to see the boys in action for free, with over 700 people responding to our competition in our April 29 editions.

Newspaper sales representative Nicola Long said: "We had a fantastic response to this competition. The winners will be announced in next week's paper."

Tickets for the event, which were made available to readers through the Observer series, have now been distributed to applicants on a first-come-first-served basis.

Tim Pilbeam, chairman of the festival organising committee, has confirmed that no further tickets will be on sale for the event. "As we went to press we had just 15 tickets available for the hospitality package '“ but we were significantly over subscribed by local fans wanting a chance to see the lads play and we simply couldn't accommodate all those who wanted tickets.

"There has been some confusion about how the tickets have been allocated and, contrary to some, we allocated tickets on a strictly first come, first served basis '“ there was no ballot."

Organisers are hoping the appearance of the band -as well as a lip-smacking lineup of musical talent and an impressive range of over 50 beers and lagers - will secure a record sum for charity.

The event will also feature food from sponsors Simply Italian, with profits to be donated via the Round Tables to local charities.
