Tom added: “From the eight staff that work with the children, two have Early Years Teacher Status and one has a degree in Early Years.

“The staff are committed to providing activities centred on the children’s interests and value communication with the children’s families to ensure individual needs are met.

“ The inspector also commented: ‘All staff are extremely effective in providing emotional support to all children, as a result children are exceptionally content and happy. The support for children’s communication, language and literacy development is extremely good.

‘The children are rapidly gaining the skills they need for the next steps in their learning and are exceptionally well prepared for school.’

Tom said: “To mark the occasion, the staff and children invited family and friends to an afternoon tea where the children helped to make and serve homemade lemonade and cakes.

“It was a popular event and an opportunity to celebrate with our families.

“We would like to thank Terrie Simpson our Early Years Improvement officer for all her help and support, and all our staff.”

The nursery utilises a converted Sussex tithe barn and its surroundings and children are able to go on beautiful woodland walks.
