Thirty year traditionof poppies at store

Tony Curd, a member of the Legion for the past 35 years and Chairman of the Peasmarsh division said “On behalf of the British Legion I would like to thank Jempson’s for their continued support.

“We have been collecting at the store in its varying guises for the last 30 years, and this year’s appeal has been one of the most successful yet.”

He continued: “We always get a fantastic response from both customers and staff, and are always made to feel welcome, we enjoy going there and will continue to do so”.

Stephen Jempson said “It is always a pleasure to welcome Mr. Curd, he has selflessly collected for the Poppy Appeal for many years, and we are delighted that this one has been so successful.

“We would like to thank our customers for their generous and unequivocal support”.

Brother Andrew Jempson added “There is a particular poignancy about the appeal this year, and we are proud to able to assist with fundraising for this worthy and topical cause”.

Jempsons have set up a foundation to donate to local charities and good causes in the Peasmarsh area.

This year’s Poppy Appeal, organised by the Royal British Legion, aims to raise £40 million.

All money raised goes directly to our welfare work with serving Service personnel, veterans, and their families.
