Waitrose in Lewes closed suddenly to the public on Tuesday (December 10).
A spokesman for the supermarket in Eastgate Street confirmed the store closed to customers due to a ‘water leak’.
Waitrose said on Wednesday (December 11): “We’re very sorry that our Lewes shop was unable to open yesterday morning (December 10), and for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers.
“Our Partners worked hard to resolve this and we reopened later in the day. We’d like to thank our customers for their patience.”
