Thomas shares his birthday cakes with 180 people

AN ALDWICK boy shared his seventh birthday with more than 180 people.

He blew out his birthday candles and kindly shared his cakes with as many people as possible.

The occasion, for children with medium to high disabilities and their families, was held at the Flying Fortress play centre in Ford.

The children attended with their brothers and sisters and enjoyed the freedom to play on the huge plane structure, bouncy castles and trampolines.

Eric Geddes, chief executive of Climping-based Crossroads Care South Central, said: “This is the first time we have put on an event such as this.

“We wanted to invite families we already provide services for but also open up the event to other families in the region who are associated with our care service.

“It was wonderful to see so many siblings enjoying this family event.”

Crossroads Care South Central, a care service provider, has recently been named by West Sussex County Council as providing exceptional care for children in the area.

The organisation works with more than 65 families in the area and wanted to celebrate the achievement with a first birthday party.

The county council’s child disability team provided extra funding which assisted in the party’s staging.
