Thousands support Armed Forces Weekend celebrations in Worthing
THOUSANDS of people from across the area turned out in the summer sun for the annual West Sussex Armed Forces Weekend celebrations.
here were a host of attractions on offer to visitors to Steyne Gardens, Worthing, over the weekend, including stalls, entertainment, displays and military vehicles on show.
Designed to thank the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force for their services, the sixth-annual event also featured a dramatic air-sea rescue demonstration, and a drumhead service on the Sunday, which was attended by veterans, supporters and dignitaries from across the area.
Event organiser Janet Goldsborough-Jones said: “It went fantastically well. It was a wonderful weekend.”
