Three cannabis factories found in one street

A MAJOR production line for the supply of illegal drugs has been exposed by Bexhill police.

Officers raided three properties in one road, securing an estimated 1,000 cannabis plants in the process.

Following an anonymous tip-off, police entered two neighbouring homes in Sidley Street.

A search revealed hydroponics factories spanning two floors of both buildings and around 700 plants, according to latest counts.

Just over 24 hours later, police discovered a similar set-up in another Sidley Street house when they acted on more information from a member of the public. Initial estimates suggest another 300 plants being grown.

Police believe the discoveries are connected.

Inspector Martin Mann, head of the Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team, said yesterday: "There has been only one arrest so far but we are dealing with leads and following up investigations. They are likely to be linked with other finds within Sussex."

It was the fourth cannabis factory discovery in Bexhill in a fortnight.
