THREE DIE IN ROAD CRASHES

Three people have died on the roads of East Sussex over the weekend.

A 5.25pm on Saturday, there was a three vehicle collision on the Ersham Road, Hailsham.

A 13-year-old boy died as a result of his injuries. Six other people were taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital where they were treated for their injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and ask for them to call police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Ferndale.

At approximately 4.45pm on Sunday, a fatal collision occurred on the A267 between Fives Ashes and Mayfield.

A Honda motorcycle (rider, aged 34 and pillion passenger aged 21) were in collision with a Ford Ka. The rider of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries.

The female pillion passenger was airlifted to Kent & Sussex Hospital with serious leg injuries.

The two occuptants of the Ford were treated for minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information should contact the Road Policing Department at Polegate quoting Operation Venerable.

At 00:17am on Sunday, aa vehicle left thee A26, Eridge Road, Crowborough near to the junction of Oakwood Road.

A silver Rover hatchback with three male occupants struck a tree.

The male driver died at the scene, a 19 year old male sustained serious burns and was taken to hospital by the Sussex Police Helicopter.

An 18 year old passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Sussex Ambulance Service. East Sussex Fire and Rescue also attended the scene to a report of a fire.
