Police are studying internal CCTV footage. In each instance two youths are shown. It is believed they are local. Last Friday morning's sequence was:

3.29 - An unsuccessful attempt is made to break into Threshers in Cooden Sea Road, target for recent raids.

3.44 - Someone smashes the front door of Threshers in Collington Mansions. In 30 seconds about 1,200 worth of cigarettes and drink are stolen

4.45 - An unsuccessful attempt is made to smash a way into Victoria Wines in Ninfield Road, Sidey.

Sector commander Inspector Max Mosley said: "Clearly, we are looking for anyone who has seen any suspicious vehicle or anyone acting suspiciously in these areas to come forward with information.

"People are targeting off-licences so there will be improvements in security in future in these premises. Owners of off-licences and other similar targets need to realise that this type of offence can be prevented by basic security improvements. Police would like to see security grilles fitted at such premises."
