A garage was also broken into at Harts Green, Sedlescombe, but nothing was taken.

Sergeant Paul Masterson, of the Battle Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I would like to urge you all to consider the security of your garages and sheds.

“Criminals are targeting sheds, garages and other outbuildings for break-ins in the Battle area.

“Please take the time to property-mark your belongings which you store in your outbuilding, taking a note of the serial numbers of equipment and consider registering your items with Immobilise.com.

“Take the time to invest in a good quality lock and never leave outbuildings insecure.

“If possible, remove particularly valuable equipment overnight or failing that additionally lock valuable equipment to a fixed point to further secure it.

“If you are concerned about the security of your home and would like a crime prevention survey, you can contact our Crime Prevention Officer for Rother, Hilary Warden, who can be contacted on 101 extension 564305 or via email at [email protected].”
