Nominations are now open for this year’s Sussex Sport & Physical Activity Awards.

This year, there are nine categories, all of which celebrate those working to get Sussex residents moving more through sport or physical activity.

Active Sussex Regional Project & Events Officer Ed Bartram said: "It's been another year of extraordinary achievements and fantastic work across the sector, and we're thrilled to be able to celebrate this with the Sussex Sport & Physical Activity Awards again.

Categories include Active School of the Year, the Community Impact Award, Environmental Sustainability Award, Health Improvement Award, Diversity and Inclusion Award, Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award, Rising Star Award, Sports Personality of the Year, and the Unsung Hero Award.

Last year, winners included the now Olympian medalist Amber Anning, a unique cancer support charity, and a team working with one of the most deprived areas nationally.

The deadline for nominations is 11.59pm on Thursday, October 24.

The awards ceremony will take place at Sussex Cricket Ground in Hove on Thursday, November 28.
