Tiny dancers delight in Peppa Pig Danceathon

Babies and toddlers from babyballet groups in the area hopped, skipped and jumped during their weekly classes to raise money for baby charity Tommy's.

Members aged from 18 months to five years took part in a Danceathon at Barnham Community Hall on Thursday and those aged from 18 months to three years took part at Felpham Methodist Church hall on Saturday.

The tiny dancers were sponsored to complete a Peppa Pig themed dance lesson to help fund vital research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage.

Little ones wearing their tutus went on an imaginary journey with Peppa Pig and her younger brother George Pig from their classroom.

They donned golden crowns to become princes and princesses at Buckingham Palace, where they danced to music in front of the Queen.

Jessica Smith runs babyballet Bognor Regis, which includes the classes in Barnham and Felpham as well as others in Bognor Regis and Pagham.

Together, the classes from the area have already raised more than £1,000 and nationally, the 13,500 babyballet stars from across the country have raised £200,000 through the Danceathon for Tommy’s.

“We have dance classes including ballet and tap for boys and girls, babies, tots, toddlers, pre-schoolers and school starters.

“Classes fill up really quickly, so it’s worth booking as soon as possible.”

The Danceathon was supporting Tommy’s vital research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage.
