Lorcan Mooney, fund manager for County Oak’s owners, Standard Life Investments UK Retail Park Trust, said: “It’s great to see that County Oak continues to attract some of the best brands, such as TK Maxx and Boots.

“Add to this Next’s wish to massively increase the size of its store and the great response we’ve had from our customers over the busy Christmas and New Year trading period, it’s easy to see just how important the retail park is for Crawley.”

A spokesman said the retail park off London Road will undergo redevelopment works to enable the relocation and enlargement of a Next store.

The expansion was due to start shortly and will make it nearly four times bigger – from 15,000 sq ft to 62,000 sq ft over three floors. It will include its fashion offer and Next Home, the retailer’s home furnishings range. The existing store will not close during the works.
