Top comedy line-up

Guildford’s Electric Comedy Club is promising top comedy on Sunday, July 3 at 7.45pm (tickets 01483 444789 or www.electrictheatre.co.uk).

“We have another fine line up of comedians to tempt you away from the summer barbeque and into our comedy café this July,” says spokeswoman Caroline Bennett.

“Headlining is the hugely-talented Addy Van Der Borgh, achap we believe has been genetically engineered for comedy. His mere presence sends people into fits of laughter. Addy has performed to sell-out crowds across Europe and as far flung as New Zealand and South Africa. Hand-picked as the only British comedian to perform at Twentieth Century Fox’s Comedy Showcase, Addy has established himself as one of our finest performers with regular slots on Radio 4’s Loose Ends , requests to perform to our troops in Afghanistan and considerable work for TV.

“Joining Addy is the phenomenally-funny Tom Craine. Much in demand, Tom has worked with comedy darling Alan Carr, master of disguise Alistair McGowan and the uncompromisingly-funny Rhod Gilbert. With worldwide tours, festivals and fringe bookings in the pipeline, we’re delighted Tom’s making a scheduled stop off at The Electric.”
