Mr Nelson first set up the band in 2005. Since then, it has blossomed, performing in the nation’s capital, overseas and at countless local and charity events.

It now has four bands – one for beginners in year seven, a junior band, advanced one and pro one – which has united academy students of all ages, past and present.
