Top marks for Dalton’s cycle race

THE recent Bank Holiday weekend saw the Battle Camera Club’s annual exhibition in Battle Memorial Hall.

Battle Camera Club has a reputation as one of the best photography clubs in the South of England, mounting an exhibition of professional quality in which members display their finest work of that year.

The exhibition is always highly praised by visitors and many photographers from around the South East come to see the photographs on display.

This year Battle Camera Club ran a photography exhibition aimed at young people of school age.

In keeping with the Olympic spirit, the theme of the competition was ‘Sport’.

The best photo prize was won by six-year-old Dalton Sutton, for his photo ‘The Cycle Race’.

Dalton came to the exhibition to receive his prize from Battle mayor Richard Bye.

Battle Camera Club is made up of photographers of all ages and standards and the club supports them in their quest to become better photographers.

The club meets every two weeks at the Memorial Hall, Battle, with a varied programme which includes presentations of member’s work, competitions, illustrated lectures by acclaimed photographers and screenings of major photographic exhibitions.

All of this is invaluable to novice photographers who want to improve their skills and enjoy their photography in the company of like-minded people.

This year’s programme includes six workshops, aimed at beginners, alongside the regular programme.
