To achieve the award participants completed a specified number of hours volunteering in the community, as well as committing time to their own personal development by completing a physical activity and learning a skill.

The highlight of the award was the expedition where students planned and carried out a route across open countryside whilst being completely self-sufficient and working as a team.

Students faced an added challenge this year as bad weather conditions dominated the expedition.
