Alps reports are used by Ofsted when they judge on the quality of provision offered by a school or college.

The philosophy behind the scheme is that every student is individual and is at the centre of the college's work.

The analysis includes students of all abilities as it measures the improvements made based on what a student previously achieved before attending the college.

The report, which included more than 1,000 schools and colleges throughout the country, placed Bexhill College within the top 20 per cent. This equates to a teaching and learning rating of Excellent using the Alps criteria.
