Tories ‘confident’ of holding Worthing West and East Worthing and Shoreham seats

EARLY indications suggest the Conservatives look set to hold both Worthing West and East Worthing and Shoreham seats in the general election.

Conservative sources are confident of comfortable holds in both constituencies, with the counts now underway.

The remaining parties appear to be battling for second place, with an early close battle for second in East Worthing and Shoreham between UKIP and Labour.

UKIP candidate Mike Glennon earlier told the Herald second place would be a ‘glorious victory’, while Labour’s Tim Macpherson was hoping hard work canvassing would pay dividends.

Results were expected to be declared between 5am and 6am but a longer than expected verification process has caused delays.
