Tories win the day in Bexhill county elections

THE CONSERVATIVES stormed to victory in the Bexhill county council elections today, claiming all four seats.

The Liberal Democrats were ousted from Bexhill East in a close-run race, with Conservative candidate Martin John Kenward taking the seat with 946 votes (34 per cent) from LibDem Martyn Forster, who gained 940 votes (38.8 per cent).

The turnout for Bexhill East was 37 per cent.

In King Offa, Tory candidates Michael Ensor and Joy Hughes hung onto their seats with 2,821 votes (22.3 per cent) and 2,647 votes (20.9 per cent) respectively.

The turnout for King Offa was 69 per cent.

And in Bexhill West, Conservative candidate Brian Gadd won the day, also keeping his seat, with 1,792 votes (50.9 per cent).

The turnout for Bexhill West was 46 per cent.
