Town all set for clowns return

Final details have been agreed for this year's Clowns Weekend in Bognor Regis.

Dozens of the comic characters are again expected to descend on the town in March.

The discussions between Bognor Regis Town Council, Butlins and Clowns International means that preparations for the third of the events are complete.

The clowns will be at Butlins from March 7 to 10 as part of the holiday resort's Circus weekend. Some of them will be entertaining shoppers in the London Road precinct on the Saturday morning, March 8.

The traditional parade '“ which involved 83 clowns last year '“ will take place the next day at 2pm from the Butlins' day visitor entrance. Town council events officer Sue Holmes said the route along the seafront and through the town centre would be the same as last year.

"The jazz band that we had last year proved very popular.

"So, we invited them back to lead the parade again this year," she stated.
