Town centre drug factory uncovered

POLICE seized one of the largest hauls of cannabis to be discovered in the town on Thursday morning.

Officers acting on a tip-off raided a home in Cornwall Road to find a full drug factory set-up and an estimated 700 plants.

Scene of crime officers were due at the property as the Observer went to press.

A man of unknown age has been arrested in connection with the discovery.

olice said the building was 'rammed' with plants.

Sergeant Dave Sands, part of the Rother police intelligence team who took part in the operation, said: "From receiving the information to executing the warrant took about four hours, so that was pleasing.

"It is a four bedroom house and we have found plants in every room."

The discovery follows a string of high-profile warrants executed by Bexhill Police within the last year.
