From 10am pedestrians will be able to explore the shops, galleries, restaurants and bars in a relaxed, vehicle-free area.

Arundel Town Council and the Arundel Chamber of Commerce have chosen the same days as the award-winning Arundel Farmers’ Market, which already draws people from the surrounding towns and villages to Arundel.

Arundel Mayor, Councillor James Stewart, said: “Through this initiative Arundel joins Brighton, Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in providing, at least for a short time each month, a family-friendly, car-free shopping experience to attract shoppers and provide a welcome boost to the local economy.

“Now both residents and visitors can really enjoy the freedom of walking along the street, and enjoying Arundel ‘en plain air’.”

The initiative will run until September this year.
