Town gearing-up for music festival

Shoreham is gearing up for the second Wild Life music festival '“ which takes place this weekend.

The festival returns to Shoreham Airport on Saturday and Sunday following last summer’s inaugural event.

Presented by Disclosure and Rudimental in association with SJM Concerts, the 2015 event attracted some 70,000 revellers – 35,000 each day – from across the country, making it the biggest event to be held at Shoreham Airport.

The 2016 line-up features many big name acts, including Ice Cube, James Bay, Carl Cox, Annie Mac and Busta Rhymes, while De La Soul will return.

Local acts also feature on the bill, as the Allstars will once again be performing at the event.

The young musicians from the Allstars collective spent Saturday running through the songs that they will be playing at the festival.

The event took place at the the Allstars’ established live venue, the Penhill Arts Centre in Lancing.

It saw bands such as Paris Underground, Gravity’s Invisible Ghost Hands and 80i debuting ‘The Wildlife Set’ which is a collection songs they have specifically learnt for the festival which features acts such as James Bay, Rudimental, Disclosure and Ice Cube.

Over the weekend 90 local young musicians will be playing at Wild Life on ‘Melfi’ the Allstars’ customised mobile stage.
