Town Rubbished

CRESCENT Road should be renamed Filth Street , according to a furious restaurant owner.

Henry Hourquet, owner of La Difference Restaurant, is making old-style lanterns to hang outside his restaurant in Crescent Road because he believes it resembles a road out of the Charles Dickens era.

The situation is just the same in Bedford Row, where mountains of rotting rubbish have been piling up behind Kiwis Restaurant.

For four years Mr Hourquet has put up with rubbish being dumped outside his restaurant, on numerous occasions blocking the pavement. Even children s dirty nappies have been dumped on the street.

The rubbish has seriously affected trade, as it smells in the hot weather and could potentially attract vermin.

Despite repeatedly approaching different councillors, the problem has not been resolved.

Mr Hourquet said: It is absolutely disgraceful. Worthing traders are working together to try to improve this end of town. How are we supposed to do it?

We are talking about pure filth.

I am down on my knees praying that someone can do something to help.
