Toys donated to Kipling Ward

Brand new toys put smiles on the faces of young patients last week - thanks to an event held at the Lodge of St. Michael at Mission Hall.

The Ladies night event, in St Leonards, raised 650 for Kipling Ward where 450 was spent on new toys for children and 200 was spent on alterations to a side ward.

Jackie Bisson, who organised the event, said, "My seven-year-old daughter, Zoe Louise, helped choose the new toys and we would like to give a big thank you to all the people involved who made the event such a big success."

A raffle was held and prizes included an evening of fine dining in a restaurant and a nail makeover.

Caroline Stephenson, Sister on Kipling Ward, said, "We are immensely grateful to everyone who helped raise this money.

"We are working hard to start a support fund for an oncology side room on Kipling and this money is a great start."
