Traders’ stall adds polish to Littlehampton market

A CHARITY shoe shine hopes to add some sparkle to market day.

The newly-formed Littlehampton Town Team will host the event, at Littlehampton’s town market, on Friday (July 20) and August 10.

Mr Stokes, an expert shoe shiner, will be guiding shoppers through the process, in return for donations to Raydar, a Littlehampton-based charity that supports local families.

Members of the town team will be at the stall, handing out goodie bags, containing free parking disks, as well as information on the shops in town.

Town traders Celia Thompson and Teresa Haskel said the idea behind the event was to help inspire younger generations to find out more about traditional trades.

Celia, who runs Ahead to Toe hair salon, added: “We though this would be a good starting point to regenerate interest in neglected trades and encourage youngsters to recycle and renew old crafts.

“The Town Team is a strong bunch of local business people, all passionate about our town. We wish to see it survive and develop.”
