Man dies after collapsing in Five Oaks

A 50-year-old man died after he collapsed outside the BP petrol station in Five Oaks yesterday (Sunday January 17).

Paramedics treated the man, who had suffered a cardiac arrest, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said two ambulances, a paramedic car and a community first responder attended the scene after they were called at 5.30pm.

The spokesperson said: “Everyone at the scene worked together to treat the man who had suffered a cardiac arrest.

“Sadly, despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

During lifesaving efforts, SECAmb contacted police who provided assistance in dealing with traffic on the A264 Horsham Road.
