Man suffers serious injuries in single vehicle collision

A 65-year-old man suffered serious injuries after the car he was driving collided with two lampposts and a parked car, police said.

Police were called to Bannings Vale, in Saltdean, at 7.30am on Sunday (June 24) to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision.

A police spokesman said the driver of the silver Toyota Rav4, a 65-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries after colliding with the two lampposts and a parked car.

He was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, according to police, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
