Motorcyclist dies in collision near Goodwood

A motorcylist died in a collision with a car near Goodwood yesterday, police have said.

The 50-year-old man from Camberley was pronounced dead at the scene in Claypit Lane after his white Suzuki GSXR motorcycle collided with a red Citroan Nemo van, according to police.

The driver of the Citroen a 53-year-old man from Midhurst was uninjured, police added.

Officers were called to the incident at around 11.55am and the road was closed for three hours while the collision was investigated, police said.

Inspector Stewart Goodwin said: “We are appealing for anyone in the area who saw what happened to contact us on [email protected] or 101 quoting Op Bancroft.”
