Three-year-old Hastings child hospitalised after crash

Emergency services were called to the A259 Little Common Road in Bexhill outside the Denbigh pub at around 10.30am after the crash between a silver Vauxhall Astra and a blue Ford Focus.

The driver of the Focus, a 31-year-old man from Hastings, and the driver of the Astra, a 30-year-old woman from Gosport, Hampshire, were both taken to the Conquest Hospital, for treatment to minor injuries and shock, according to police.

Two passengers in the Focus, a 29-year-old woman and a three-year-old boy, both from Hastings, were also treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Two other young children were also hurt but there was no indication of any serious or life-threatening injuries, a South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) spokesman added.

SECAmb sent three cars and three ambulances, while East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bexhill and Eastbourne were also mobilised, but no one was trapped so no action was taken.
