"A very high tide along Brighton and Hove beaches will be at its highest at 12.23pm on Sunday 29 September.

"This coincides with a Met Office weather warning of strong winds up to 45-55 mph along the coast especially in exposed locations.

"The waves will be very high and strong and we’re expecting some over-topping and shingle to blow off the beach. This can cause injury and the waves also have the potential to also knock people over.

"Please be very careful if you’re planning to visit Brighton and Hove beaches on Sunday between 10am – 2pm."
