Train delays caused by floods

FLOODING is causing delays to train journeys this morning (Monday, January 6) going in and out of Littlehampton and neighbouring stations.

While the rainfall has largely reduced in most parts of Sussex since Friday and Saturday (January 3 and 4) there are still a number of areas with high water levels, including Horsham.

The delays, of up to around 30 minutes, are being caused by flooding near Christ’s Hospital.

They are affecting journeys along the Coastway West line, including stations as far as Brighton and Hove, and the mainline from Brighton to London Victoria, among others.

The disruptions follow a miserable few days for commuters, after train passengers last Thursday were hit by the double whammy of ticket hikes and flood-related delays.
