Train Operator shortlisted for six awards

SOUTHERN Rail is on track to receive recognition after being shortlisted in six categories at the prestigious Association of Community Rail Partnership (ACoRP) Community Rail awards.

The emphasis of the awards is on rewarding excellence and promoting best practice in community rail development, recognising ordinary people doing extraordinary things on behalf of the railway and the community.

Southern has been shortlisted in the following categories:

Best Community Rail Event

Best Station Retail Outlet

Local Station Environment

Station Development

Outstanding Railway Staff

Passengers Matter

The gala awards event will take place on 24 September and will be hosted by Chris Austin OBE. Chris is Director of Public Policy at the Association of Train Operating Companies', and former Executive Director of Community Rail Development at the Strategic Rail Authority.
