A SIGNALLING FAILURE caused train cancellations and delays in the Polegate area last night, April 16.
The signal problem happened at 7pm and it meant Southern Rail was unable to run trains in the area for a short time.
A knock-on effect meant there were short notice alterations to services, three cancellations and delays to services throughout the area lasting up to 50 minutes.
Delays and alterations to train services remained until the close of service last night.
A Southern Rail spokesman said: “We are sorry that passengers’ journeys were disrupted last night.
“If they experienced delays of 30 minutes or more, they can apply for a partial refund on their ticket through our Delay Repay scheme.”
