A259 at Bexhill to be closed for four weeks

The A259 at Bexhill will undergo a series of overnight closures for four and a half weeks.

The drainage and carriageway works will stretch from the Custom Café to the Little Common roundabout starting on October 19 and finishing on November 14.

Highways England said sections of the road between those two locations will undergo rolling overnight closures. The road will be shut to motorists between 8pm and 6am on Mondays to Fridays.

The works will get underway on October 19, on the westbound carriageway between Little Common roundabout and the Ashbridge Court Care Centre.

This stretch of road will be closed each weekday night until November 4.

Then, on November 5, Highways England will be closing the eastbound carriageway between the Little Common roundabout and the Prideaux Lodge. This closure will be in place each weekday night until November 9.

From November 9 to November 14, there will be a full overnight closure for carriageway resurfacing of the A259 between Coneyburrow Lane and the Little Common roundabout, again between the hours of 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only.

On November 9, the eastbound carriageway between The Custom Café and the Little Common roundabout will be closed for one night.

On November 10, the west bound carriageway will be shut between the Little Common roundabout and The Custom Café, also for one night.

Highways England said residents within the roadworks area should make their way to the closure point where they will be escorted through the works to their property.
