A27 reopens in Chichester after car overturns during police pursuit

A main road was blocked near Chichester after a stolen car rolled over this morning (Monday, March 15).

The A27 was closed at A285 Portfield Way after the accident at around 9am.

A driver has been arrested after the crash, which followed a police pursuit. Read more here

The collision happened on the Portfield roundabout and long delays were reported westbound.

'Severe delays' were also reported on the Bognor Road roundabout, eastbound between A27 Chichester Bypass (Whyke Roundabout) and the A27.

Highways England confirmed, shortly before 11am, that the road was 'fully open'.

A spokesperson said: "Lane restrictions have been removed. There are currently no significant delays or congestion in the area."
