Amberley crash victim named

A WOMAN who died following a serious car collision on the B2139 in Amberley, near Arundel, has been named.

Cecelia Hearn, aged 68, of Hurst Cottages, East Street, Amberley, was sadly pronounced dead around 5pm after her silver Ford Fiesta collided with a blue SAAB.

Mrs Hearn’s 69-year-old passenger, also from Amberley, was seriously injured in the crash and is recovering in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A 44-year-old woman from Tangmere, who was a passenger in the SAAB, was taken to Worthing Hospital with an ankle injury and serious bruising, but has now been released.

The driver of the Saab, a 40-year-old man from Guildford, along with a 69-year-old woman from South Africa - also a passenger - were treated at Worthing Hospital for minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Keston.
